The author was an accomplished engineer. In 1958, after
a short stint of work in a coal mine in India, he came into contact with Ananda
Marga. In 1963, after his meeting with Baba, he decided to dedicate himself to
the path of self-realisation and service as a renunciate monk. During past forty
five years he has traveled extensively around the globe to establish the legacy
of his master, Shrii Shrii Anandamurtiji. He has taught mediation and yoga to
thousands of people, and has lectured widely on topics of spirituality and self-realisation.
After working extensively in India, he was specially chosen by Shrii Shrii
Anandamurtiji to serve as the shraman (trainer) for all overseas monks and nuns
who underwent missionary training at Prashiksana Matha in Davao, Phillipines.
There, he trained more than 600 monks and nuns. He established an NGO by the
name "Baba's Foundation" for running various service projects in poor and
underdeveloped areas, supporting about 6000 families. In Ananda Marga, Acarya
Cidananda is regarded as a saintly and fatherly figure.
